Making professional websites more accessible to small businesses.
Digimush started with a straightforward idea: a business shouldn't need a large upfront budget to have a professional, well-built website. We created a subscription-based website offering alongside one-off digital projects, combining our experience in marketing, development and practical business technology.
Live interface01 / The opportunity
Many smaller businesses need a credible digital presence but face a difficult choice between an expensive bespoke build and a low-quality DIY solution. We saw an opportunity to make the process simpler and more affordable while still focusing on quality, performance and ownership.
02 / My involvement
I co-founded Digimush with Charlie Pickles. We both contribute to designing and building client websites, often starting from limited briefs and working out what a business needs by researching its services and existing online presence.
I led much of the brand identity and built the Digimush website. I have also been heavily involved in outreach strategy, paid advertising setup and social media. My particular strengths include technical SEO, site performance, deployment, domains, DNS, email configuration, schema and social-sharing metadata. Charlie brings complementary strengths in sales and backend-heavy systems.
03 / Building the service
The subscription offering removes the traditional upfront website-build fee, helping smaller businesses get online with predictable ongoing costs. We also take on suitable one-off projects.
We aim to produce professional sites quickly without treating every business as a template. Projects often involve turning minimal information into clear positioning, useful page structures and an appropriate visual identity.
Performance, technical SEO, responsive design, domains, email and deployment are part of the practical delivery process, not optional extras added at the end.
We have tested paid advertising, organic social activity and direct outreach. Some of that outreach has involved manual Instagram engagement and offers — it should not be described as automated prospecting.
04 / The outcome so far
Digimush has secured early subscription clients and worthwhile one-off projects. Revenue remains modest, but the business has shown encouraging early traction while operating with limited time and advertising budget.
The part I'm most proud of is the quality of the work we're producing and the fact that we've begun building a real business around it. Individual client projects are showcased through Digimush's own portfolio rather than duplicated as separate case studies here.
05 / What I learned
Building a business from the ground up brings a different perspective to decisions about pricing, marketing, delivery and customer experience. It also gives me an opportunity to apply emerging development tools in a real commercial setting, where the quality of the finished work matters more than how quickly it was generated.
