Salesforce integration
Connected Marketing Cloud with Salesforce so that CRM information could inform audience selection and lifecycle communications.

Connecting fragmented communications into more consistent customer journeys.
Good lifecycle marketing depends on timely, relevant communication and reliable data. I implemented Salesforce Marketing Cloud to bring disconnected tools and journeys into a more integrated environment linked to the CRM.
Journey Builder01 / The challenge
Marketing communications had been spread across Mailchimp, Textlocal, Zapier and other processes. That made it harder to manage consistent customer journeys and connect messaging activity with Salesforce data.
The opportunity was to reduce fragmentation and create more reliable, stage-appropriate communications across different parts of the business.
02 / My involvement
Unlike the wider Salesforce CRM transformation, this was an area where I both led the work and personally completed the hands-on implementation. The core setup took approximately two to three months alongside the broader Salesforce project. I continue to manage regular weekly email activity myself.
03 / What I implemented
Connected Marketing Cloud with Salesforce so that CRM information could inform audience selection and lifecycle communications.
Built data structures and SQL-driven audience selection to make campaigns and automated journeys more relevant to a person's circumstances.
Developed journeys for lead nurturing, inactive-lead re-engagement and operational touchpoints, including appointments, photography bookings and transaction communications.
Built investor guides and ongoing nurturing activity to support communication beyond the initial enquiry.
Brought previously fragmented communications into a more coordinated environment, reducing manual work and unnecessary tool complexity.
04 / The outcome
The implementation created a more integrated approach to lifecycle communications, with journeys linked more closely to CRM records and business processes. It reduced complexity and supported a more consistent experience across multiple customer touchpoints. I would not publish unverified savings or private performance figures.
05 / What I learned
Marketing automation is most valuable when it reflects how the business actually works. Building journeys is only part of the challenge; reliable data, sensible segmentation, clear triggers and ongoing maintenance determine whether those journeys remain useful.
