Mat McCorry is the controller of personal information processed through this website. The site does not sell personal data or use it for behavioural advertising.
What I collect
If you use the contact form, I receive:
- your name and email address;
- the subject and content of your message; and
- limited technical data, such as an IP address and submission timing, used briefly to detect spam and rate-limit the form.
The Automation Lab can save a workflow in your browser’s local storage. That workflow stays on your device and is not sent to me. See the cookie and storage policy.
Why I use it
Contact details and messages are used to answer your enquiry, consider a potential project or collaboration, and protect the form from misuse. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact me. Where you ask me to take steps before entering into a contract, processing may also be necessary for those pre-contract steps.
I do not use the contact form to add you to a mailing list, build an advertising profile or make automated decisions about you.
Who processes the information
Form messages are delivered using Resend and then handled through my email provider. Cloudflare and other infrastructure providers may process request data to host, secure and deliver the site. Google Fonts is loaded from Google’s servers, so Google may receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser details.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, I rely on the provider’s lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguards.
How long it is kept
The site does not create a separate database of contact enquiries. Correspondence is reviewed after 12 months from the last meaningful contact and deleted when it is no longer needed, unless an ongoing working relationship, dispute or legal obligation requires it to be retained. The in-memory rate-limit record expires after approximately one minute. Infrastructure providers retain their own security logs under their published policies.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis used.
Email mat@digimush.co.uk to exercise a right or ask a privacy question. I may need enough information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Complaints
Please contact me first so I can try to resolve the issue. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office through its complaints service.
Children and changes
This portfolio is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect children’s information. I will update this notice if the site’s data practices materially change.
